An Arita Fish Shaped Dish

The shallow dish moulded in the form of a carp

Brushed and washed with cobalt blue in order to emphasise the raised scales and ribs in the fins

The base with a four character Ming mark

Arita, Hizen C1690/1730

Length; 10 1/2″ (26.5 cm)

Condition; excellent

Dishes of this type are in the Takatori Collection, Kyushu Ceramic Museum as 1670-1700
