A Rare Chinese St Augustinian Imari Beaker and Saucer
Consisting of an Imari beaker and a matched Verte Imari saucer
Both decorated with the double headed eagle on a floral ground

Condition; both with small chips, some staining to the underside of the saucer.
The Double Headed Eagle is a symbol of the St Augustinian Order
Philip II (1527-98) of Spain granted the Spanish Augustinian Order in the Philippines the privilege of using the Hapsburg eagle as their emblem.
The Spanish Augustinians were soon established in Manila and also in Macao, Mexico and India
